AMAZING STAFF, from the receptionist all the way down to the dentists. First dental practice I’ve gone to wear they... actually listen to your concerns. I got my teeth cleaned by the hygienist in January and told her I would be getting composite bonding done the next day.... It felt like a super aggressive appointment but I didn’t think much of it. The next day, the dentist asked me if I had my teeth cleaned as there were stains round the back. He had to then clean them again as he said they had only cleaned what was visible rather than doing a thorough job. I received a reminder email to rebook for my next cleaning and definitely won’t be back.read more

After receiving an emergency appointment through 111, I had a broken tooth extracted which other dentists couldn’t take... out previously because of it being too close to the gum line. I called to book myself in for an appointment… The receptionist, who answered informed me that I was no longer their... patient as I had not been into the practice since 2015 and that I was informed about going in for treatment after that time. However, I wasn’t??? To which I was then told that I have been removed and couldn’t be offered an appointment. I had told the receptionist that I had definitely been in after and that I wasn’t made aware of their policies, so I request to speak to their practice manager. The practice manager came onto the phone and her tone was very off putting and she was speaking to me like I had committed an offence, when I had told her that I had been in after 2015 and that I wasn’t aware of the policies about removal from the list, she told me ‘well you should have seen it, it was on the buses and advertised everywhere and they’re not obliged to inform us even though her colleague said otherwise. She then went onto insult me further by saying I must have ‘accompanied’ my father on his visits to the dentist, as opposed receiving treatment myself as my father has been attending frequently. I told her I do not have short term memory loss and not to insult me like what. I did not appreciate her condensing or rude tone of voice. She blamed this on her ‘asthma’ sorry but having asthma and being rude in your tone are two vastly different things. I am absolutely disgusted with the way she spoke to me and made me feel like I couldn’t remember when I had been in. Total and utter disappointment considering I have been with the practice since childhood and I have been treated by both Dr Rayners. It’s even more disappointing that they are very good dentists, but don’t show that representation in their staff especially being the practice manager.Telling someone something is one thing and then being rude and showing authority all whilst you’re a simple practice manager is another. Have some decorum dear. There was absolutely no need for that level of rudeness over something I wasn’t simply aware of.read more

Doesnt even give me further information or ask if I'm getting pain from it. Ask about dental treatment and replies I'm not with them downstairs I'm an emergency dentist. Doesn't even face me when saying this, Rude.Please work on your patient bedside manners, try and be polite and smile at your patients. Absolutely wonderful dentist. Booked in as couldn't get an emergency appointment on 111 so did have to pay private... prices, but compared to the treatment I received from the NHS dentist last time I'm very happy to pay. £55 deposited and you get the examination and x-ray. Identified the issue straight away and explained what was needed. I needed a tooth removed. I was unsure as I remember the feeling of the last one but price was confirmed £150 and the work began. The dentist was amazing and so was the nurse, warned them I'm a nervous patient and I usually need more pain meds and they listened straight away. Stopping as soon as I asked. Root was curved and pron to breaking. She took her time and worked the tooth to come out instead of the hammering I remember the tooth next to it having when it came out. Recommend this dentist even debating working to become private patient.read more

I keep getting messages for check up appointments would not go back if it was free - had 3 appointments in total had... been made to wait for the first two after I had arrived - 1st appointment they did a check of my mouth and didn’t really pay attention to my concerns until I consistently spoke about them - apparently they couldn’t see them on the x ray - arrived late for the third one (which I rang to advise them of) arrived with no other patient in the building so they had no other appointments that afternoon I’m assuming to then be told I was late by the receptionist (who said this to me as though I was a poor puppy and whilst pronouncing my name wrong) then was advised I would need to pay a late fee and that I had lost my deposit so yes not happy with the service. I expected more from them considering they had 5 stars on here but sadly I did not receive the services received by othersSecond star due to cleanliness other than that I was not happyread more

Very Disappointed with my visit today.. Dr Shetty was taking care of me today and one of the worst dentists I’ve ever... come across made me wait 30 minutes doing absolutely nothing in that time. Spoke rudely with me and in a very arrogant manner as if he couldn’t be asked with doing his job. All about giving people benefit of the doubt but Dr Shetty was just not on it. Shakal did an amazing job of my treatment and i walked out of there with a huge smile. I managed to get a weekend appointment which worked amazing for me as I wouldnt have been able to get booked in on weekdays due to my own job & no time etc, so this was very unique to me and it worked out great for my weekend schedule! Rayners are the best dental practice I know of, any issues and they will all do whatever they can to help. We waited... years for an orthodontics appointment for my daughter. We finally got one a couple of weeks ago but they told us if we couldn’t have 3 teeth extracted before the next appointment in a few weeks time then my daughter would be put onto a different orthodontics waiting list 🤯. I rang Rayner who are our family dentist and was told no appointments available until after the next orthodontics appointment. I explained the situation to the practice manager Christine and she assured me she would speak to the dentists and do everything she could to help us. Christine got us in within a couple days and got 1 extracted. She gave us an appointment for the other two extractions a few days later. Christine is a gem, the rarest of diamonds, she went above and beyond to help us out. Thank you so very much to all at Rayners. My daughter and I are very grateful 😁.read more

I called the surgery 10 minutes before closing time sobbing as I was in agony. Tom Rayner answered the call. Was very... reassuring and patient as I cried down the phone asking for an appointment for the following day ( which was a Saturday and the surgery was only open for half the day).Tom reassured me that I will get an appointment and will ask the front of desk to call me in the am with an appointment time. I put the phone down and literally a couple of minutes later the receptionist called back confirming my appointment. I was relieved as I was in agony and needed to be seen as soon as. I’m so grateful that this family run dental surgery are compassionate, caring and go over and beyond for their patients. I hope they continue to do so.read more

I have been a lifelong patient at Rayners and was always happy with the care I received in the past. Since Dr Rayner... retired, however, my experience has become increasingly frustrating.As an NHS patient, I previously received a simple scale and clean at check-ups and had no issues with my teeth. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been told repeatedly that scale and polish is no longer included in Band 1 NHS treatment, with different reasons given each time — lack of time, phasing it out, or only offering it if teeth are stained. On one occasion even been told I would need pay for a hygienist to clean, after the dentist commented on some staining of my teeth!At my most recent appointment, I reported bleeding gums and was told I had plaque build-up and early signs of gum disease. While my teeth were cleaned on this occasion, it raised concerns about why preventative care hadn’t been provided at earlier check-ups, particularly when this is supposed to be included in Band 1 treatment.Overall, I’m disappointed by the inconsistency in care and communication and, feel profit is being prioritised over patient care.read more

I registered with Rayner's dental practice in the last three or four years after neglecting my teeth for decades.... Whilst I was very apprehensive about visiting a dental practice after so many years I have been put at ease from day one.Unfortunately, this week I experienced toothache as a result of an abscess. This quickly resulting in me getting a serious infection. My face was swollen and the pain was unbearable. I contacted the practice as soon as I realised the situation was becoming serious and I was offered an appointment with my dentist that same afternoon. Thanks to her caring nature and genuine commitment to her patients I was prescribed some antibiotics. Twenty four hours on I feel so relieved that the horrific pain and discomfort has eased considerably and I appear to be on the mend. Offending tooth also booked for extraction. I can't praise my dentist enough for her support.read more

From a nervous pensioner in pain needing emergency treatment this practice was excellent. I rang at lunchtime and they... gave me an appointment the same day in the afternoon. I hadn’t needed any extractions for 40 years and so was very anxious as to what to expect. The receptionist was very kind and understanding and the dentist Sumayya and her nurse were brilliant, being patient and explaining everything to me and putting me at my ease. I was told to expect some pressure during the extraction but I actually didn’t feel anything and, it was so quick. I had my first visit here today after not having been to the dentist in ten years due to my fear of the dentist. The... reception team made me feel welcome and helped me with filing out the forms. The team in the surgery were excellent, Ava and Sumayya explained the treatment plan really well, helping me to understand it. When they did the actual treatment (on the same day which was very helpful) it was quick and easy. I did struggle at points but they were so patient and understanding, giving me time to take a breather before continuing and supporting me through every step. I was booked in a while ago with Dr Ayoub for a filling. However, I am unsatisfied with the results. I was meant to a... get a permanent filling, however I’ve come to realise that it is a temporary filling and I believe she has used riva light cure instead of actual filling material. I must have agreed to it at the time as it was a longer appointment than planned. So I just kind of wanted the appointment to be over and done with in a way but I didn’t realise I was going to get fobbed off. Since doing my own research, I have now realised that it is not a permanent filling which was not clear at the time as it was described as ‘a long term temporary filling’. If you are going to come to this dental practice stay clear of this dentist. However, the rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful.read more

My teeth may not have looked that bad to anyone else but to me I really noticed that my two front teeth were starting... to cross over one other and my bottom row had always been very overcrowded. Having always had a toothy smile - it’s something that was starting to really get me down. I saw Dr Johnston was starting Invisalign treatments so I jumped at the chance.My treatment took roughly 6 months - retainers were worn everyday and night, only removed to eat and drink (not water) and never more than 90mins at a time. I still have more whitening to do but have quite sensitive teeth so I spoke to Will and he suggested I take frequent rest periods between each exposure which made the world of difference.I cannot fault Dr Johnson for the care and attention he paid my teeth throughout this process. There are some lengthy appointments throughout, made harder for the dental staff having to be PPE’d up to their eyeballs during COVID. The appointments included getting moulds and anchoring attachments to your teeth, tooth shaving and the final wire retainer. Thankfully, Dr Johnston put me at ease & ensured I didn’t feel a thing & made a possibly stressful experience easily manageable. However, what I will say is the process doesn’t work if you don’t put the time in at home - it’s painful, uncomfortable and time consuming in the beginning but soon becomes a way of life and part of the routine. If you have the time and funds to go through the process I would say without question go to Dr Johnston and get it done!!! It may seem like a lot of money but your teeth are with you for life, I see it as a life long investment and something which I didn’t realise would make such a difference to my self esteem. Thank you Dr Johnson for your care and see you at my next check up appointment with my straight pearly whites. Thank you to all the Rayner Dental staff for making treatment during COVID a non-stressful experience too, great practice and great staff.read more

My dentist Dr Amaaima is absolutely brilliant. She is so kind and caring.
